Omegle - Important message from Miss Jarvis
It has come to my attention that some pupils are using a chat platform called Omegle, outside of school.
This is a website which is specifically designed to allow users to talk to strangers. It works by randomly matching users to talk one-to-one using either text or video. It is free and anonymous to use, with no account registration or age verification.
Adult content is prevalent on Omegle. Users have no control over what they may see or hear when matched up with a stranger. Some people use Omegle with the intention of innopropriately engaging with children and young people.
The use of this platform by primary aged children is extremely concerning. Please can I ask, that if your child has a phone, you check to ensure that they are not accessing this app.
If you require any support from school, please let a member of the team know.
