We follow the PSHE Matters scheme of work, which was developed for primary schools in Derbyshire.  Alongside this, we use Kings, Princesses, Ducks and Penguins - a resource from Derbyshire LGBT+ to promote our inclusive curriculum which is reflective of the world around us! PSHE Matters is a spiral curriculum, a concept developed by Jerome Bruner, which ensures children revisit key concepts over time, deepening their knowledge and building upon prior knowledge. The scheme starts in the Early Years and is accessible to all pupils.  

The learning takes place through 12 modules over a 2 year cycle  - the document below shows how this is planned at Parkview. 

We have high expectations of all learners in PSHE. Teaching staff use adaptations in lessons to ensure the PSHE curriculum is accessible for all.
