  • Families First Quality Award

Tue 28 Nov 2017 Miss Jarvis

Parkview Primary School was awarded the Families First Quality Award from The National Association of Family Information Services In the summer term. The framework provided to gain this award was developed to support schools to provide a high quality education to pupils with SEND that exceed their duty under the Children and Families Act 2014, and the 0-25 SEND Code of Practice 2014.

The scheme provided a development framework for all schools, at any stage of the transition to improve their quality of provision and teaching for children and young people with SEND. The school had to put together evidence to show they had worked towards and met 52 standards set out by the framework.

By gaining this award, Parkview Primary School has been recognised as providing outstanding provision for children with special educational needs and disabilities and have gone above and beyond the expectation set out in the Code of Practice to provide high quality education for pupils with SEND. The award will last for 3 years and it is an award in which we should all be very proud to have gained.

  • Anti-Bullying Week

Tue 21 Nov 2017 Miss Jarvis

We had a very successful anti-bullying week at Parkview last week. Children took part in a variety of activities to teach them about the different types of bullying and what to do if they see, or are subjected to bullying themselves. The work developed was celebrated in a special assembly on Thursday led by Miss Merriman.

In order to reiterate our stance on bullying, I have sent all parents our procedure when dealing with bullying in school. It can also be found under the 'Key Information' tab on our website.

  • Writing Morning

Tue 21 Nov 2017 Miss Jarvis

A huge 'thank you' to all that came along to our writing open morning on Friday! The children and staff really enjoyed it and we hope you went away with lots of ideas about how to support your child at home.
