Mayor of Derby Christmas Card Competition

Cllr Frank Harwood, Mayor of the City of Derby, invited Parkview Primary School to take part in his Christmas card competition! This involved pupils from Year 1 to Year 6 putting their creative talents to the test to produce a design which can be used as the design for the hundreds of Christmas cards which are sent out from the Mayor's office this Christmas.

The Mayor came to school today Friday 22nd November to announce the winner and 2 runner ups.  Willow said, "I am a little overwhelmed that I won."

The Mayor was so impressed with the quantity and standard of entries submitted.

The Mayor has selected Willow Herbert (year 3) to be the winning design and feature on his Christmas card this year. The two runners up are Arlo Thacker (year 1) and Millie Dalziel (year 6).

The artist of the winning design, along with 2 runners up have received an invitation to afternoon tea with the Mayor, as well as a tour of the parlour at the Council House.

Well done to all the many children who entered the competition.
